Topic: The Essentials of Witnessing (3)

(use the audio to study)

Background
Last week, we discussed two additional essentials of witnessing namely:
 Our witnessing must call the listener to genuine repentance through the three Cs—Conviction, Confession, and Conversion.
 Our witnessing must emphasize to the listener that more than saying a ‘sinner’s prayer’ it is important that the fruit of repentance be manifest in their lives occasioned by the blotting out/cancellation of their sins and a changed life—spiritual renewal and soul revival.

Scripture Text(s)
Acts 3:11-26
We are continuing from here today as we take on the third and final part of our discussion on witnessing.
We shall spend some time discussing the practical aspect of witnessing—presentation of the gospel message in a very relatable way to the listener. May the Holy Spirit help us, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Acts 10:34-44: Matthew 13:3, 34-35, 10-13; Mark 4:33.

Conclusion
Witnessing is not just telling others what you know and have experienced of the goodness (salvation) of God through Jesus Christ, but it must be narrated in a way that makes the listener understand what you are trying to communicate to them. Hence, when we are witnessing to people, we must be able to use parables, illustrations, story-telling, etc. which can convey the gospel message to the uninformed.

We need to ask the Father for the gift of story-telling—one that will impact the listener and that they can relate to; one that makes the gospel message easy to understand and comprehend.
