Topic: The Ways of God
Background
We have seen that there is a new way to live and that Christ is th4e key to living the new way. For as long as you are happy/satisfied living the old, sinful, contrary way, you will not want to live the new way (<strong>Luke 5:39</strong>).
If we are to preserve/retain the Holy Spirit in our lives, we must become new wineskins—changed into conformity with Christ—only then can we willingly and eagerly let the Holy Spirit lead us (<strong>Matthew 4:1; Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:16</strong>). If the Holy Spirit lives in you, you will be the temple of God. It all has to do with Christ in you, you in Christ—obeying and submitting to Him and hungry to do His Will!
Scripture Text(s)
Acts 3:1ff
Whereas Peter and John believed that they were going to the temple to pray, something else was at play. As Peter and John were about to enter the temple, there was this man, born lame, being set down for his usual routine of begging.
On this day, everything that could come together, did, and the man born lame began to walk, leaping and praising God! There was as it were, a perfect alignment of events and persons and the lame man got a miracle.
The Bible tells us that the ways of God are past finding out. He can use our bad situation and make it work for good. For example when the Lord was crucified, it was the Will of God, that was being implemented!
Romans 11:33-34, 36; Isaiah 55:8-9; Romans 8:28; Genesis 39:1ff; 50:20; Psalm 105:16-45; Genesis 15:13-21; 1 Corinthians 2:6-8; Acts 4:23-28; Matthew 26:39, 42; 1 Samuel 9; 10; Acts 9; Luke 5:1-11; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10, 13-14; Job 1:6-12; Proverbs 16:1 (Living Bible)
Conclusion
There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless, the Lord’s counsel—that will stand (<strong>Proverbs 19:21</strong>). When Judah rebelled against God, He sent them into exile. And even though it was God’s discipline, yet it was for their good—it made them understand that neither God nor His laws is to be taken for granted. It also enabled the land to rest for 70 years—something they did not allow while they were in the land! (<strong>Isaiah 14:24-27; 46:9-13</strong>).
If something is of God, nothing you do to the contrary shall stand (<strong>Acts 5:38-39</strong>). If God does not want to do what He should do, He then gets intercessors to intercede, then He would say, "<em>I have found an intercessor; I will not do it again!</em>" But are there any who would intercede? Are there any who love God?
