Our Sunday audio messages can be accessed from here. These are messages and teachings recorded in the course of our weekly meetings. Each audio is preceded by a synopsis of the message.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to you as you listen.
We are here looking at difficulties arising from 1 Corinthians 7 as it relates to marriage. This takes the form of a Q & A.
The people of Israel in the wilderness had no conviction about the God who brought them out from bondage in Egypt. Without conviction we would be wobbly in our faith or belief. One issue that arises from the making of the gold calf, is your personal conviction about God. Many people tend to follow the crowd, but in reality, there is an agenda for the crowd as they are being teleguided by someone somewhere. If you, therefore, do not have a personal conviction about God but follow the crowd, you would end up following people to your doom.
The people gathered together unto Aaron and asked him to make for them a gold calf. The issue that is raised here is unto whom are you gathered? Whether or not we are aware, when we gather together, we are gathered because someone somewhere has called for that gathering. When you are gathered unto anyone except God, such a gathering is unfruitful and evil. But when we are gathered unto God we have peace and fellowship with the Lord. So, when we gather unto God, there are certain things that we must be doing. If we do not see these things in any such gathering, we can confidently say that such a gathering is not unto God!
Impatience was one of the major factors that contributed to the making of the gold calf. Many times our understanding of when something would occur can be wrong, but then, we usually make up our minds on the basis of these wrong understandings to our hurt. If we don't believe and patiently hold on to what God has said to us, and that He will keep His promises, we would invariably turn away from God and turn onto a 'gold calf'. The Bible warns us to endure hardship and to persevere so that we can keep our hope in the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Exodus 32, the bible tells us the story of how the Gold Calf was first made in the wilderness. It was largely the result of so many factors coming together all at once. The people were growing impatient having not seen Moses for almost 40 days; Aaron, who was put in charge in the absence of Moses, was weak and unable to withstand the people's pressure; among many more. Today, people are unwilling to wait for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, and many are beginning to erect 'gold calves', appointing teachers that they want to listen to and messages that tickle their fancy!
The gold calf came about because of the perceptions the Israelites had about Moses and God. Wrong perceptions will give rise to hasty and ungodly decisions. The perception of the people was wrong, and the conclusion they arrived at was wrong. Whenever we do not see things through the lens of God's eye we would end up with a wrong decision, much to our hurt.
We have God's promise that when we ask He will answer. But why is it that when we do ask, we do not receive answers to our prayers? In this fifth part, we look at some more reasons why this is so.
We have God's promise that when we ask He will answer. But why is it that when we do ask, we do not receive answers to our prayers? In this concluding part, we look at some more reasons why this is so.
We are called to prepare the hearts of people, as well as ours, to make way for the Lord of lords. We accomplish this by preaching repentance, bearing internal fruit, and making (teaching) disciples.
As we study the generation of Israel which was rescued out of Egypt, but most of whom did not enter the Promised Land, we cannot but see our own generation going the same way--not heeding the word of God; not listening to admonitions; etc.
We continue with looking at the generation of Israel which was rescued out of Egypt, but most of whom did not enter the Promised Land. This time, though, we focus more on our own present generation, and see how we can avoid being like the generation of Israel that perished in the wilderness. We need to have the flesh crucified if we are to be able to heed the word of God, and live as God wants us to--by the Holy Spirit.
When certain things happen to us, we usually get confused and are lost as to what to do. We ought to know that nothing happens to a believer in Christ by accident--everything is within the control of God, and He allows the unpleasant things in our lives to test our faith in preparation for the things He has already planned ahead, so that we would be able to stand.
The tabernacle of David is the House of God which David set up. It was basically a tent with the Ark of God placed therein. Unlike the tabernacle of Moses, which was at Gibeah, which had all the paraphanelia of approaching God, except the Ark of God. Whereas God was through with the tavernacle of Moses, the tabernacle of David, became the symbol of God's unrevealed plan at the time for the worship of God in the end-time. This message introduces the subject matter.

This message (the full version), which is the first part that discusses tabernacle of David rebuilt, declares to us the nature of the rebuit tabernacle--the Church with the presence of God!
