Dawn in the Horizon.
As the new day dawns, hopes are rekindled, dreams are born, and the brightness that the sun brings along is a cheer to the heart. But then there are fears that also come along: the fear of the unknown; the fear that it may not go as well, in spite of the hopes of a better day; indeed, the fear of everything and anything.
But in this we can always stand secure: ?In the beginning God ...? (Genesis 1:1). Once God is involved in any venture, you can rest assured that, that venture will succeed! In the beginning before God began to recreate the world as we know it now, the bible says that. "The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep ?" (Genesis 1:2a): what a depressing outlook! But as we read further, we see a glimmer of hope, indeed, light at the end of the tunnel: ?? And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.? (Genesis 1:2b). The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, who is the manifest power of the living God. It was He who brought dry bones back to life, making them into an army as of the Lord of Hosts (Ezekiel 37:1-14). But the best is yet to come. The third verse of the book of beginnings then goes on to say, ?Then God said, ?Let there be light?; and there was light.? (Genesis 1:3). It is the word of God that makes the team a devastating combination!
In the gospel of John, it is written, ?In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.? (John 1:1-3). The Word of God is not just a spoken word, but a Person: the Second Person of the Trinity, also known as Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. It is His involvement in the affairs of men that brings all the hopes and dreams of a new day into reality in our lives and generation.
This is not a ?feel good? statement, but the truth! Every and any venture that man engages in that does not have the involvement of the Trinity is bound to fail. Failure does not mean that, that venture will not make money, indeed, it may be a resounding money spinner, but there is much more to life than money, for when God is absent, then truly, all has failed. The bible says, ?For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?? (Mark 8:36-37). The answer is simple: Nothing!
It is time for you and I to begin to seek God first in all that we do and endeavour to do, and then every new day will come with its own hopes and dreams, which over time and in combination with other days, will take us to that place of glory that God has promised all those who live for Him!
Remain blessed!
