A Tale of Three Friends
There was a man who had two friends, and all three of them were so closely related that when one person was hurt, the other two were equally hurt. So close were these friends that they reasoned alike, held the same views on issues, liked the same things, and hated the same things. As a matter of fact, you could not befriend one without befriending the other two. If you hated one, you would inadvertently hate the other two, because the enemy of any one of the trio became the enemy of the others!

Its Application to Reality
The above statement may seem far-fetched especially in the time that we live in. Be that as it may, this is the reality of the Godhead which is made up of three divine Persons, who are equal in every ramification and yet have great respect and admiration for one other; each one projecting the others above Himself! Yes, there is a Holy Trinity, also called the Godhead, or simply known by their individual identity as God, the Father; God, the Son; and, God, the Holy Spirit. While it is true that nowhere in the Bible is the word "Trinity" used, as some have correctly argued, yet it does not annul the fact that there is indeed a Godhead of three distinct yet unified Persons. The Bible makes this clear in very many instances, but a few would suffice.

Is There a Holy Trinity?
In Genesis 1:1-4, the Bible tells of the creation story by mentioning that in the beginning when God made the heavens and the earth, that there was the Father, there was the Holy Spirit, and there was the One who spoke. We see that at the recreation of the earth (for that is what it was, as the earth had been made formless, void, and dark because of Satan and his cohorts being cast down to the earth); the Holy Spirit was brooding over the chaotic matter that was the earth, and the One who speaks said, "Let there be light" and when light came forth, the Father came and inspected and saw that it was good. John 1:1-3 further confirms this where it is written, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was with God in the beginning. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made." And then in John 1:14, the Word is spoken of as becoming human: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." In John 1:17, the identity of the Word who had become human (or made flesh) is revealed thus: "the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." So, there you have it! Jesus Christ is the Word from the beginning that became human!

Man's Attempt to Circumvent Truth
So much has been done in the past and maybe much more in the last half-Century, to obliterate the knowledge of God from the earth. Even among people who profess to be Christians, there are those who deny the existence and significance of the Holy Spirit, in whose dispensation we presently live. There are also those who do not believe that Jesus Christ ever existed, and even when His existence is acknowledged, He is erroneously presented not as God, but as a great man, a prophet, a genius or even a renegade. Jesus Christ, Himself once put the question to His disciples when He asked, as recorded in Matthew 16:13, KJV, "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" To this question, His disciples answered, "Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets." (Matthew 16:14, KJV). And when He pressed His disciples as to who they say He is, and Peter said that "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God", the Lord affirmed and Peter's response and made it clear that it was indeed the Father who could have given Peter such a revelation of who He is. (Matthew 16:15-17)

The argument to convince men about the existence of the Holy Trinity cannot be over-emphasized. One realizes that even in times of impending disaster, warnings are issued for people to evacuate their homes to avoid loss of lives, but these warnings are largely ignored. People just choose to believe whatever it is they want to believe, and do whatever they want to do, regardless of tomes of information. However, we urge you to pay attention to the truth that is in the Bible about the existence of the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Further Evidence of the Existence of The Holy Trinity
As earlier enumerated, in the beginning, there was the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son, Jesus Christ, whom we noted was the One who speaks, and who is referred to in John 1:1-3, as the Word, without whom there was not anything made that was made. Thus, we know that the Holy Trinity was involved in the creation of the heavens and the earth. In Genesis 1:26, the Bible also records a conversation where God, the Father said, "Let Us make man . . ." signifying the presence of more than one entity, and it wasn't the angels He was talking to.

In many other instances in the Bible, we encounter the Holy Trinity: the description of the operation of spiritual gifts mentions the role of the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Father (1 Corinthians 12:4-6); the Benediction in 2 Corinthians 13:13, KJV, KJV, "May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all"; the statement about the unity of the Body of Christ infers the example of the Trinity: "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Ephesians 4:4-6, KJV). These scripture verses point to present truth as documented in the Bible. The fact that an individual does not agree with, or, chooses to contend against, the truth does not in any way alter the verity of truth!

In Spite of the Overwhelming Evidence Many Still Choose to Ignore Truth
In Romans 1:20-32, GNB, the Bible says, "Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all! They know God, but they do not give him the honor that belongs to him, nor do they thank him. Instead, their thoughts have become complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness. They say they are wise, but they are fools; instead of worshiping the immortal God, they worship images made to look like mortals or birds or animals or reptiles. And so God has given those people over to do the filthy things their hearts desire, and they do shameful things with each other. They exchange the truth about God for a lie; they worship and serve what God has created instead of the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever! Amen. Because they do this, God has given them over to shameful passions. Even the women pervert the natural use of their sex by unnatural acts. In the same way the men give up natural sexual relations with women and burn with passion for each other. Men do shameful things with each other, and as a result they bring upon themselves the punishment they deserve for their wrongdoing. Because those people refuse to keep in mind the true knowledge about God, he has given them over to corrupted minds, so that they do the things that they should not do. They are filled with all kinds of wickedness, evil, greed, and vice; they are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, deceit, and malice. They gossip and speak evil of one another; they are hateful to God, insolent, proud, and boastful; they think of more ways to do evil; they disobey their parents; they have no conscience; they do not keep their promises, and they show no kindness or pity for others. They know that God's law says that people who live in this way deserve death. Yet, not only do they continue to do these very things, but they even approve of others who do them."

Man, throughout history has refused to acknowledge the truth that stares him in the eyes about creation. By refusing to acknowledge the truth, he comes up with theories about creation and ends up engaging in all sorts of activities that mar him, since he has denied the existence of God, whose works and activity is clearly visible to all! For instance, no one can fathom how perfectly spherical all the planets are in all galaxies. Could this have been by happenstance or by the work of a Creator? A Creator certainly made all these things. And if because of our limited understanding we refuse to acknowledge the truth and the Creator, then we make ourselves a ridicule to other created things when we now bow to them, rather than to the Creator.

Did you know that the Bible had since informed humanity that the earth was round and not flat? It is written in Isaiah 40:22, KJV, "It is God who sits above the circle of the earth.", a statement which was made long before science and scientists sought to debate the shape of the earth. The earth is referred to as a circle. If we can decide to accept and believe God's word as truth, which it is regardless, we will save ourselves a lot of hassles.

All the Truth We Need is in the Bible!
Scientists have told us that the earth just happened and that living beings on the earth evolved from one life form to another. But nothing can be further from the truth! It is God who made the heavens (the galaxies inclusive) and the earth. It is God who made all living beings, and more importantly, it is God who made man in His own image and in His likeness! The Bible says, "By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast." (Psalms 33:6-9). This is the truth about creation: God spoke and it was done!

I leave you with this thought today and possibly for the rest of your life: How would you feel when you discover tomorrow that you had believed a lie? The world and the galaxies did not just happen! The big bang theory and the evolution theory are theories, not truth! Do not anchor your life on man's theories of what he holds to be true but on the indisputable word of God!

I couldn't have believed in the existence of God, Creation, the Trinity, and the Bible, if God had not granted me the grace to believe. It can be difficult, but I pray that God will supply you with the grace to believe Him and His word.
